Midphase, like most other respectable hosts, offers 24/7 phone line and email support. Along with that there are also tutorials and a forum available on their site. I called up and was connected to someone after about 2 minutes on hold. The service representative was very friendly and after answering my questions even invited me to call again should anything happen. Their email system also performed very well. I sent an email at 11:09pm and the next day I saw that it had been replied to at 12:05. The email was also very detailed and I could tell it was definitely not an auto response from a computer.

Conclusions:

• Pros – Lots of disk space and bandwidth for a very modest price, 30 day money back guarantee, offer to pay off existing contract, ad credits at Google and Yahoo, excellent customer support.
• Cons – only 1 MySQL database and only 3 with the more expensive plan, low pricing only available with 1 year contract. Considerable installation fees if you don’t sign up for at least a year.
• Other Thoughts – Midphase provides a lot of bang for your buck and for web masters looking to settle down with a host for at least 12 months, Midphase would be a wise choice. Users looking for a shorter commitment should look elsewhere.

At previous companies I had tried there were no forums or 24/7 support, or in some cases, there wasn’t even a number you could call; you had to submit an email ticket and wait for a response. That could take days, and the worst part was that half the time they failed to come even remotely close to answering your question. However, MidPhase was paradise comparatively. Not only did they have plenty of online and offline resources but when you call their support line you talk to a real person, not some machine. All their technicians actually listen to you and help you through your problems. Other hosts would beat around the bush, asking me asinine questions which were totally unrelated to the problems I was having.
